Avtokomanda Sports Hall
Skopje, North Macedonia
Avtokomanda Sports Hall sits in the Gazi Baba municipality, an area that carries the name of a military transport base from the post-WWI period. The building rose from the ruins of the 1963 Skopje earthquake as part of the city’s reconstruction, though the exact date of opening remains unclear. It is a compact venue for the sport of handball, holding 2,000 seats for matches, though some domestic fixtures have been recorded with 1,200 capacity.
RK Metalurg Skopje, the men’s club founded in 1971, owns the facility. The women’s side, ŽRK Metalurg, dates back to 1964 and shares the ground. The hall hosts Macedonian Cup finals and European Handball Federation competitions. There are no former names associated with the venue. The highest recorded attendance has not been established.
