Bandırma 17 Eylül Stadyumu
The ground that carries the town's name carries a date with it — 17 Eylül.
The stadium replaced an earlier home. Before this ground opened, Bandırmaspor played at a pitch known locally as Джин Чукуру. The current ground has kept its name since it opened, which in Turkish football, where sponsors and municipalities rename arenas regularly, counts as a kind of steadiness.
It is a working stadium rather than a showpiece. The football on offer comes from the 1. Lig and the 2. Lig, with the occasional early round of the Кубок Турции bringing an unfamiliar badge to town. Bandırmaspor have spent years moving between those two divisions, and the ground has absorbed both the promotions and the drops back down without much changing around it.
The surface is natural grass, kept that way rather than converted to the artificial pitches that spread through the smaller Turkish leagues. The ground stands in the 600 Evler district, a residential quarter, so matchdays fill streets that are otherwise ordinary.
