Binnaz Karakaya Sports Hall

The Binnaz Karakaya Sports Hall sits in the Gümbet district. It opened in 2005. You do not need to look far to find where the energy goes. When B.B. Bodrumspor took on Vakıfbank in October 2023, the stands filled beyond what the chairs held, with standing areas likely swallowing another thousand or so. That is how it is here: small, but full.

Indoors, the floor is the centre of attention. It received a fresh coat in February 2025, a necessary refresh for the athletes who switch between volleyball, handball and basketball. The tenants keep the place busy. Yalıkavak Women's Handball plays out their season here, as does Bodrumspor Women's Volleyball. They are not the only ones. In May 2025, the Turkish Women's Handball Super League Final Series arrived, drawing Armada Praxis Yalıkavakspor against Adasokağı Spor Kulübü. The EHF Women's European Cup Quarterfinal followed earlier, in January, when Armada Praxis Yalıkavak pulled off a decisive win over Yenimahalle Belediyesi.

There is nothing grand about the architecture. The address places it firmly on Kartal sok. You can find more details on the municipal website, but the hall speaks for itself when the lights go down. That is enough.
