Elfsborg and Norrby share the ground, but the arena's real distinction is the surface underfoot. When Borås Arena opened in April 2005, it went in with GreenFields synthetic turf, and upgraded it in 2012 ahead of the European Championship qualifying campaign that season.
The attendance record still belongs to the opening season: 17,070 came through for Elfsborg's meeting with Kalmar FF that July, a mark that has stood since without serious challenge.
There's no former name to untangle, no rebrand to explain — it has been Borås Arena since the doors opened, which is rarer than it sounds among stadiums of its size in Sweden.
