Borussia-Park

Borussia-Park sits on a plot the club chose after leaving the old Bökelbergstadion. Marc Lorenz designed the bowl that opened in the summer of 2004, and for two decades the stadium carried no sponsor name at all — a rarity for a ground of this size, and something the club only changed in 2026, when Ista signed on for a deal running to 2031.

The women's World Cup passed through in 2011, bringing Brazil against Australia and a French semi-final defeat to the United States, and the German national side has used the ground for Nations League and friendly fixtures in more recent years. Elton John and Bruce Springsteen have both played there, and Pink filled it in 2024.

What sets Borussia-Park apart from most stadiums its age is the hotel built onto the west stand between 2015 and 2018 — a four-star H4 with 128 rooms, the club's FohlenWelt museum, a fan shop and a medical centre all under one roof, built to push the number of events held at the ground from 450 to 750 a year. The bowl itself has barely been touched since opening, aside from one change made in the 2026 close season: around 900 seats in the Südkurve came out to make room for 1,800 standing places, giving home fans the terrace section that German grounds are known for but that international fixtures rarely allow.
