The ground in Lezhë carries the name of a local footballer rather than a club or a sponsor. Brian Filipi came from the city and died in a car accident in Italy in 2009; the following year the stadium was renamed in his honour, replacing its original title, Besëlidhja, taken from the club that owns it. Some sources record the old name having been reinstated afterwards, so the two forms still circulate side by side — Wikipedia and most current references treat Brian Filipi as the standing name, Besëlidhja as the former one.

Construction began in 1969, but for two decades the ground had no main stand at all. It was only in 1989 that a 2,000-seat central tribune went up, giving the site the shape it has kept since — a modest venue built in stages rather than to a single plan.

The pitch is natural grass, and the stadium sits in the Besëlidhja neighbourhood that gave the club its name, home to KS Besëlidhja Lezhë. Capacity runs to around 5,000, modest even by Albanian standards, and there is no record of the ground hosting anything beyond the club's own fixtures.
