Brinje Stadium

Grosuplje, Slovenia

Formerly: Stadion Brinje

The ground sits quietly in Grosuplje. The 2024–2025 reconstruction, financed by the Municipality of Grosuplje alongside significant backing from the Football Association of Slovenia (NZS) and UEFA’s Hattrick program, turned the site into a modern "Football Park."

The timing of this work coincided with the rise of the local side, NK Brinje Grosuplje, who played in the **Slovenian PrvaLiga** for the first time in 2026 after decades in the lower divisions. The new facility was unveiled in September 2025. Yet, despite the high-profile guests, the capacity has been deliberately scaled back. Where historical records suggest a crowd of 1,100 could pack into the stands during a cup tie against NK Olimpija Ljubljana in 2026, the current licensed configuration allows for only 500 seats.

The surface is natural grass, laid fresh as part of the renovation, replacing the original turf that dated back to the stadium's uncertain construction era of the mid-20th century. While some sources point to 1955 and others to 1968, the physical reality is the clean lines of the new seating and the official nature of the club's status. The previous entity, NK Grosuplje, dissolved years ago, leaving this ground to serve the current iteration of the team. It is a space that feels prepared for a level of football it has not yet experienced in full, a quiet park waiting for the pressure of the top flight to settle in.
