The name on the front of the ground has changed three times since 2009, but the road it sits on has not: Broadhall Way was the address first, the ground second.

The first match here was played on 26 August 1961, Stevenage Town against Ware, a year after construction finished. The West Stand went up and the East Terrace was replaced across 1994–1996; the South Stand followed in 2001 at a cost of £600,000. The last of the old terracing came down in 2018, and the North Stand that replaced it opened in December 2019 with 1,428 seats, which is what fixes the current capacity of 7,318.

The pitch was relaid in June 2024 with a SISGrass hybrid surface — 95 per cent natural grass stitched through with polyethylene fibres. Before that it was ordinary turf.
