Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium

The Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium is a prominent structure in the city. The rebuild was finished between 1982 and 1997, a long period of reconstruction that added three levels of seating and a roof over the main stand.

The building has not always been whole. The capacity is roughly 49,500, which makes it the largest stadium in the country.

The stadium gets its name from the president who was in office when construction began. The Lebanese Ministry of Youth & Fine Arts built the first version, but the current shape was given by the later work. Before that, a charity concert by Luciano Pavarotti filled the stands in 1999, and a match between club legends in 2017 drew a crowd. The Lebanon national football team uses the ground for its home games, alongside local clubs such as Nejmeh and Al-Ansar.
