CCM Kirumba Stadium
The ground on Makongoro Road was built and is still run by Chama Cha Mapinduzi, Tanzania's ruling party, which explains why four separate sides, Mbao FC, Toto African, Alliance Schools and Pamba, all call it home.
Wizkid's set at Tigo Fiesta in 2016 brought in more than 30,000, well past what most of those internationals managed, and the Serengeti Festival used the ground in 2014.
None of that matched the ambition behind the work that started in 2024, a rebuild costing some 50 billion Tanzanian shillings, tied directly to Tanzania's bid to help stage AFCON 2027. That timeline is the thing to watch here: a venue that spent most of its life as a concert ground and occasional qualifier venue is now being rebuilt against a continental deadline, and whether it turns back into a proper football fixture depends on what shape the finished stadium takes.
