Central Park Denbigh
Denbigh, United Kingdom
Central Park in Denbigh is not a place that announces itself. The access road off Park Street is narrow, and the building itself is unassuming, but the ground inside is where the action has gathered. The most recent chapter began in August 2021, when a £200,000 project relaid the surface to fix the persistent drainage issues. The result is natural grass so pristine that visitors initially thought it was 4G artificial turf. It holds up under a different kind of pressure now, too. The stadium was selected as a host for the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, bringing international sides like Denmark U19 and Spain U19 to this corner of Denbighshire.
The record crowd still belongs to that tournament. On July 4, 2026, the gates took 1,725 spectators to watch Germany U19 defeat Spain U19 4-3 in Group A. Before that, the local rivalry defined the attendance figures, with Boxing Day 2023 seeing 1,145 fans watch Denbigh Town beat Ruthin Town in the Vale of Clwyd Derby. The capacity sits at 2,300, though only 600 seats are provided.
Denbigh Town has called this place home since the club formed in 1963, the same year the ground officially opened. It has never changed its name, and the pitch has been its constant.
