The land came first, and it kept its old name. Stourbridge College bought the site for £700,000, and in September 2012 a purpose-built training and teaching complex opened on it — not a rebuilt ground, but new construction laid out for a college and a football club at the same time.
That double purpose is what separates the Centre of Sporting Excellence from the many small grounds around Worcestershire that exist only for match days.
It has never been the home of Kidderminster Harriers' first team. That is Aggborough, reworked in 1994 and again in 2003, and the split leaves the Centre with the club's U21 and U23 sides and its women's team. Others have found a way through the gates too: Worcester City played here between 2013 and 2016, and Wolverhampton Wanderers' U23s have used the ground since 2020.
Ownership shifted in 2021, when the land and buildings passed to Kidderminster Harriers and the running of the site went to Kidderminster College.
