Rochettaz opened its gates over two summer days in June 1980, and from the start it was built to share rather than to belong to one tenant: a football club, a tennis section and the local gymnastics federation all moved in together. Pully Football is the name attached to it now, playing in Switzerland's regional amateur tiers, though the club's own postal address sits a few doors down the same avenue rather than at the ground itself.

The pitch has done the more interesting travelling. For four decades it stayed natural grass, the kind of surface that dictates a club's calendar around the weather rather than the fixture list. That changed in October 2023, when Pully Football unveiled a new synthetic Kunstrasen surface, still in use for the club's home fixtures.

Figures for how many people can actually stand around that pitch depend on who you ask: some listings put the ground at 1,500, others at 1,000, and the commune itself has never settled the question in public records. It is not the sort of arena built for that debate to matter much — a neighbourhood ground on Avenue de Rochettaz, in Pully, doing the same job it was handed in 1980.
