Centro de Treinamento Ribamar Bezerra

Fortaleza built its Centro de Treinamento Ribamar Bezerra off the back of a Série A campaign, ploughing money from that 2005 season into a training base of its own in Maracanaú rather than continuing to rent grounds around Fortaleza. The first pitch opened on 27 July 2008, with the rest of the site following through to the end of 2010 — a staged build rather than a single ribbon-cutting.

The name honours Ribamar Bezerra, a former club president, and it has carried no other name since. Drainage and irrigation were built into the pitches from the start, which matters more here than at a stadium proper: this is a training ground, not a matchday venue, so the surfaces take daily wear from squads and academy sides rather than eleven fixtures a season.

It sits in Alto Alegre II, on Rua Quinze, inside a municipality that is really an extension of greater Fortaleza rather than a separate footballing city. There is no matchday crowd to speak of and no fixture list attached to the ground — its capacity is nominal, built for staff, families and the odd open session rather than paying spectators.
