Centro sportivo Cornaredo (Campo B2)
Campo B2 was never the main event at Cornaredo. It sat off to the side, one of the secondary pitches ( Nebenplätze ) attached to the old Stadio Comunale Cornaredo, the ground that for decades belonged to FC Lugano. While the first team drew the crowds and the fixtures on the principal pitch, B2 did the quieter work: hosting the club's U21 side and the training and competition needs of the local athletics club, SAL Lugano.
The wider complex opened its doors in 1951, in the Cornaredo district that gave the whole ground its name, at Via Trevano 100.
That supporting role is also what ended it. As Lugano's football infrastructure moved on, Campo B2 went the way of the old complex's secondary spaces: it was demolished in 2023. The pitch itself is gone, but its address and the years it spent backing up FC Lugano's youth and athletics programmes remain part of the Cornaredo site's story.
