Cherry Red Records Stadium

The postcode says Tooting, but the road name is the point: Plough Lane. AFC Wimbledon spent the years after 2002 playing outside the borough, and the ground that opened on 3 November 2020 put the club back on the street it had left. That is the whole argument of the place — built at a cost of £34m by Buckingham Group, to a design by KSS Design Group.

It is small by London standards and was always meant to be temporary at that size. The bowl was structured for a second phase taking capacity to 20,000, which is why the stands read as unfinished rather than modest.

The name changed on 16 September 2021, when Cherry Red Records — a label with its own Wimbledon history — took the sponsorship. Supporters mostly kept saying Plough Lane.

Before the ground had a full season of crowds it was doing other work: from 25 March 2021 it ran as a COVID-19 vaccination centre. It has taken one showpiece fixture, the FA Women's Continental League Cup final of 5 March 2022, Chelsea Women against Manchester City Women.

The site's weakness surfaced in September 2024, when the ground flooded and matches had to be moved — the Wandle is close, and the land is low. Attendance peaked on 18 April 2026 against Plymouth Argyle, 8,737 in, short of the listed capacity even for something close to a sell-out crowd.
