Chuncheon Songam Sports Town

The stadium was built to replace the old civic facility, which had deteriorated in Onui-dong. The construction replaced a worn-down structure with a modern complex that includes baseball and tennis facilities, but for the football fan, the pitch is the centre of gravity.

It is the home of Gangwon FC, a club that has played here since the venue opened in 2009. The capacity is listed at 20,000, though some figures vary depending on how the standing areas are counted. A record of 17,943 spectators attended a match against Incheon United in the club’s first season. The stadium has hosted events beyond football, including concerts and international tournaments, but the daily rhythm is set by the home team’s schedule.

The complex is owned by the city of Chuncheon, and it serves as the primary sporting hub for the region.
