Clandeboye Park
For years, this pitch shared its footprint with something noisier than football: a stock car track ringed the playing surface. Only once the track was pulled up did the ground gain room to stretch the pitch out properly, and the artificial surface laid since carries no trace of the old circuit.
Bangor Borough Council built the ground, and Bangor F.C. have called it home since it opened. In 2001 the club took on a second tenant: Ards F.C. moved in after selling their own Castlereagh Park, and the two clubs have shared Clandeboye Road ever since.
A 1987 rebuild reshaped the place, and by 2008 a press box and media centre had gone up alongside it. Then, in 2011, part of the west stand went the other way: sold off to a housing developer and replaced by a brick wall marking where the terrace used to run. The ground has traded under sponsorship as the Bangor Fuels Arena, though locals still know it simply as Clandeboye Park.
