Complexo Desportivo do Real SC
Queluz, Portugal
Formerly: Estádio do Real SC
Complexo Desportivo do Real SC sits in the quiet shadow of Lisbon. The ground opened its doors in 1991, long before its current tenants, Real Sport Clube, were forged. That club arrived later, a merger of two local sides, Grupo Desportivo de Queluz and Clube Desportivo e Recreativo de Massamá, and the stadium had already been hosting one of them. The capacity is modest, listed at 1,200.
The pitch is natural grass. The club reached a moment of distinction in the 2016/17 season, winning the Campeonato de Portugal final against Oliveirense to secure promotion. The stadium has also seen visitors from the north, with matches involving SU 1º Dezembro against Sp. Braga and Oliveirense.
Life at the complex is not immune to the elements. In December 2019, the Elsa depression brought structural damage, affecting the archery field and the roof of the headquarters. It remains simply the home of Real SC, a small piece of Portugal’s footballing map, tucked away in the civil parish of Monte Abraão.
