Rural-sized is the right description. 2,500 seats puts it below most of what the Moldovan game uses at its upper levels. There is no stand of any scale wrapped around the pitch, no separate identity built up over decades of naming. For years the ground went by nothing more descriptive than Stadionul Stăuceni, or simply Stadionul din Stăuceni — the stadium in Stăuceni. The current name, tied to the sports complex rather than to a club or a sponsor, came later.

The tenant is younger than the ground by some distance. FC Stăuceni was founded on 30 September 2020, which makes the club a recent arrival to a pitch that was already there. It has never had a website of its own. What passes for an official presence is a club page hosted by the national federation, plus a Facebook account — the sort of arrangement common to sides that came up through the lower divisions rather than down from the top.

One further detail belongs to the commune rather than the complex: a specialised football sports school operates in Stăuceni as well, with its own pitch. Two football surfaces in one small settlement is unusual, and it is worth knowing which one you are being pointed towards.
