DG Arena

The name announces a rebuild rather than a birthplace. What stands on the Zlati Raičević site in Donja Gorica today, on the bank of the Morača, took shape from an older ground called Stari Ribnjak — the "old fish pond" — and the switch from that name to DG Arena, taken from the district's initials, marks how thoroughly the venue was made over rather than merely refurbished.

The rebuild came in stages. An interim version, laid with an artificial pitch, opened in May 2016 and held only a fraction of today's crowd. The ground reopened again in 2018 as DG Arena, this time on natural grass, under the ownership of the city of Podgorica. No club is tied to the arena, but two share it: FK Podgorica, a club revived in 2014 that now plays in the Montenegrin First League, and OFK Mladost DG, which carries forward OFK Mladost Lješkopolje, founded in 1970. FK Budućnost Podgorica has also used the ground at times.

What the arena lacks is a public face — there is no working official website for it, only an unused domain. That absence fits a venue built less as a showpiece than as a working home ground on the edge of the capital, a short distance from the university campus that gives Donja Gorica its name.
