Arena Khimki

When Dynamo Moscow's own ground came down for rebuilding, they moved in here for a decade, from 2009 to 2019. CSKA used the stadium through the years in between, 2010 to 2016, for Champions League and Europa League nights against Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Sparta Prague, alongside a run of league fixtures. Spartak dropped by for occasional European ties, and Rossiyanka played their Women's Champions League matches on this pitch. Khimki themselves have been the nominal home side since the ground opened, on and off. For 2025/26, Rodina Moscow take over as the main tenants, with CSKA's women's side, Dynamo-2, Rodina-2 and Spartak Kostroma also on the books.

The site had football on it long before the current bowl went up. Novator stood here from the mid-1960s, a 5,000-capacity ground that hosted Krasnaya Presnya in the late 1970s and reserve sides from Dynamo and Spartak in the mid-1980s, before the decision to rebuild came in 2005. The new arena opened on 20 September 2008, and the Cup final it staged the following spring left its own mark: CSKA beat Rubin Kazan 1-0 in a final played, for the first time, outside Moscow altogether.

Things came to a head on 17 November 2012, when a firecracker thrown from the away end knocked out Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin during a match against Zenit; the game was abandoned and Zenit awarded a 3-0 walkover. The pitch itself stayed natural grass until July 2025, when it was relaid with an artificial surface rated FIFA Quality Pro.
