Dogus Novi Pazar Sports Academy

The Dogus Novi Pazar Sports Academy occupies a specific corner of the city's sporting landscape, distinct from the larger open-air stadium that hosts the football club's league matches. While the main stadium sits with capacity nearing twelve thousand, this facility is an enclosed hall with a more intimate footprint, seating eight hundred spectators for games.

The ground carries a history that reflects the shifting alliances between the region and its neighbours. It was originally built with support from the Turkish municipality of Pendik. That arrangement ended when Doğuş Holding, a Turkish conglomerate, stepped in to finance a major reconstruction. The City Assembly of Novi Pazar renamed the academy to its current title in August 2021, a move that coincided with a reopening ceremony attended by the Turkish Foreign Minister.

Inside, the playing surface is parquet, suitable for the sharp movements required in basketball and volleyball. The hall is home to the local volleyball side, SD Dogus, and serves as a training base for basketball. Yet, the boundaries of its use are not strictly indoor. The complex has also hosted outdoor fixtures for FK Novi Pazar, including European qualifiers.

What the venue offers is not grandeur but function. It is a place where international ties are occasionally made visible through shared investment.
