Dolicek Stadium
Prague, Czechia
Formerly: Dannerův stadion
The stadium does not look like a monument to ambition. Bohemians 1905 has played here since the opening match on March 27, 1932, against SK Slavia Prague.
The site was originally named Dannerův stadion, honouring Zdeněk Danner, the union leader who bankrolled the construction, but the name was changed after a dispute between the club and Danner. The pitch, which switched from crushed stone to natural grass in 1951.
Bohemians used this ground to host European fixtures, including a semi-final against RSC Anderlecht in 1983, though they were unable to progress. The capacity has been gradually reduced, from 13,000 seats after a 2003 renovation down to the current 6,300 following safety regulations implemented after the 2007 installation of individual seating. The club’s history here is tied to survival as much as sport; in 2005, fans raised funds within these walls to rescue the club from financial insolvency.
It is a functional facility that is currently undergoing reconstruction to meet UEFA Category 4 standards, a project due to be completed around 2030 with a target capacity of 8,500.
