Dunbeholden Sports Complex
Portmore, Jamaica
The ground sits off Salt Pond Road, that long stretch of tarmac that links Spanish Town to Portmore. It is not a grand structure, nor does it pretend to be one. Before this, the club, founded in 1992 by Donovan Witter, played their matches at Prison Oval in Spanish Town.
The capacity is a matter of local debate. The Jamaica Football Federation lists the figure at 1,500, while other sources suggest 2,000. The crowd fills the small stands. The surface beneath the boots is never mentioned in the papers.
The club returned to the top flight for the 2018-19 season, a promotion that led directly to the construction of this venue. The intention was simple: to bring football back to the community. Since then, the complex has hosted the 'Portmore Derby' against Portmore United. In the 2024-25 season, a 1-0 victory over Harbour View was celebrated here. The 2022 finals, where the club finished as runners-up, were played elsewhere, so this ground did not witness that specific heartbreak. There are no records of attendance for individual games, only the sense that the community turns out. The venue has never been renamed, nor has it hosted a concert or any event outside the game. It is a place for football, nothing more, and nothing less.
