Á Dungasandi

Two clubs share the pitch at Á Dungasandi — 07 Vestur and SÍ Sørvágur. The ground has never carried another name.

The rebuilding of 2024 came from a rulebook rather than from ambition. The Faroese Football Association (FSF) requires covered seating and a media area of any club competing in the top division, and Á Dungasandi had neither. Sørvágs kommuna set aside three million krónur in 2023, and the work followed: a new main stand, the skýli, seating 480; an extension to the 07 Vestur clubhouse holding a media room and dressing rooms; asphalt laid around the pitch. The concrete work went to Gutti Guttesen í Bø.

The playing surface was the larger single cost. The old artificial turf was replaced with a cork-filled pitch at roughly 3.4 to 3.5 million krónur — and it went down in the summer of 2024. That timing matters for anyone reading the season back: the first home fixture of 2024, on 9 March, was played on the old surface with the building work already around it. The teams spent the spring on turf that was, by then, on its way out.
