Eamonn Deacy Park

Terryland took its first fixture on 3 February 1935, a Free State Cup tie between Athlone Town and the local side Macks, before the club it now houses turned up as tenant in 1977.

The ground took its present name on 18 August 2012, when it was rededicated to Eamonn Deacy, a full-back who won a League of Ireland title with the club before a spell at Aston Villa, and who had died earlier that year. Floodlights went up in 1993. A more substantial change followed in 2007, when a €500,000 grant funded a new stand and pushed capacity to its current 5,000, of which 3,300 are seated.

The pitch sits on Dyke Road on the Terryland side of the city, natural grass throughout its history. Galway United's own FAI Cup final appearance, in 1991, was played at Dalymount Park in Dublin rather than at home, so the ground's record attendance for a men's fixture has never been set by a match of that scale — a reminder that the club's biggest occasions have tended to happen elsewhere, even while its everyday football has stayed on the same patch of Dyke Road since the 1930s.
