Eclipse Park / Parkway Field
Savannah, United States
Formerly: Theodore A. Wright Stadium
Ted Wright Stadium sits on the campus of Savannah State University, an institution that has called this ground home since it opened in 1969. The structure is a multi-purpose facility primarily used for American football and track and field. The venue is situated in Savannah, Georgia, United States.
The stadium underwent a major renovation in 2010, which cost between $6 million and $6.5 million. This project added 500 seats and installed the current artificial turf (FieldTurf). The capacity is officially listed as 8,500 seats, a figure confirmed by the university athletics site.
The venue is best known as the home of the Savannah State University Tigers football team. The stadium also hosts track and field events and occasionally high school sports games.
The original construction cost for the structure was reported at $133,665. The stadium has maintained its status as the primary athletic venue for the university. It is currently active and operational. The alternative venue mentioned in some records, Parkway Field in Louisville, Kentucky, is a different location entirely and is not relevant here. The stadium remains a functional part of the university's athletic program.
