El Sardinero

The ground carries the same name as the one it replaced. The original Campos de Sport opened in 1913 on a plot known locally as El huerto del francés — the Frenchman's garden — and stood until it was demolished in June 1988. Spain played their first home international there on 17 April 1927, beating Switzerland 1–0.

The replacement, designed by Juan José Arenas, opened on 20 August 1988 with two friendlies on the same bill: Racing lost 0–2 to Oviedo, and Real Madrid met Everton. Spain returned on 28 March 1991 against Hungary, then for a 2–0 win over Belgium in World Cup qualifying on 7 October 2004 and a 1–0 friendly against the United States on 4 June 2008, a fortnight before that summer's European Championship.

The attendance record belongs to 29 June 1993, when 33,000 came for the play-off against Espanyol.

The pitch was relaid as a hybrid surface in late November 2024, half Ray Grass and half Poa Pratensis, stitched with synthetic fibres to a depth of 18cm.

Other sports pass through. The División de Honor B play-off final and the Copa del Rey de rugby were both settled here on 5 May 2013, and Muse drew about 23,000 on 4 July 2023.
