Elliott T. Bowers Stadium
Huntsville, United States
Formerly: Bearkat Stadium
Elliott T. Bowers Stadium sits on a gentle hill, and the view from the top of the concrete stands captures a wide horizon. The orange seats are arranged in a solid block, sandwiched between long stretches of grey concrete, and they sit close enough to the field that a player running out of bounds would feel the crowd behind him. The face of the main building is a tan brick, flat and unadorned, rising above the rows of seating like a watchtower. To the right, a grassy slope rolls away from the concrete bowl, leading down to a red running track that encircles the green field. The track is bright against the grass, a vivid ring that separates the pitch from the rest of the campus. On the far side of the field, a scoreboard stands tall, its screen dark in the daylight. The field itself is marked with white lines and painted with the word "BEARKATS" in large letters across the end zone. It is a functional space, built for the clear purpose of watching a game under a blue sky. The stadium does not hide its age, and there is no attempt to disguise the concrete that has seen many seasons. It is the only ground in Huntsville that holds a track, and the red lanes curve around the entire pitch, suggesting that movement continues even when the players rest.
