Estadi Montilivi

Montilivi keeps changing size. Girona FC sold it to the Ajuntament in 1984 to clear debts and stayed on as the main tenant.

The rebuild of 2008–2010 set the baseline: plastic seats throughout, the collapsed east stand cleared away, 9,282 places left. Then came promotion. In the summer of 2017, before the club's first season in La Liga, temporary stands went up on the north and east sides, and later the south, pushing the ground past 13,500. 14,158 on 31 January 2019, for the Copa del Rey tie against Real Madrid that Girona lost 1–4, and 1–7 over the two legs. Relegation followed that summer, the temporary structures came down, and capacity dropped back to 11,200.

The playing surface dates from the same 2017 push: a hybrid pitch, 97 per cent grass to 3 per cent synthetic fibre, laid to meet La Liga's requirements. Because the council owns the place, no sponsor has ever put a name on it.

UEFA bars temporary stands in its competitions but allowed Girona to host their 2024/25 Champions League matches here, with the ground reduced to 9,282. In the league that September, Girona turned it on against Barcelona and won 4–2. Geology and access limit what more can be built on the site, and the club is looking at a new stadium of 20,000 to 25,000 seats, costed at around €100m.
