Estadio 15 de Abril
Santa Fe, Argentina
Formerly: Estadio Club Atlético Unión, Estadio Albino García, Estadio Eva Perón
The South Stand tells a different story. It has a second tier now, a modern addition funded by the membership fees of ordinary fans who call it El Estadio de la Gente.
The history of this ground is not written in stone but in names. It was originally Estadio Club Atlético Unión, but names shift with the times. For a brief period, it carried the name of Eva Perón, a title removed when the political winds changed in 1956. Today, it bears the date of the club’s founding, April 15, 1929. It was one of the first grounds in the region to catch artificial light, back in 1931.
Visitors often notice the scale of the place. The capacity sits at 27,358, a number that feels larger when the stands are full. The record attendance matches this figure, set during a match against Boca Juniors in 2017. More recently, the stadium hosted the final of the Copa Argentina.
