Estádio Aderbal Ramos da Silva
The nickname tells you what the ground was built on: Ressacada refers to the marshy, waterlogged flats along the coast at Florianópolis. Construction ran through 1982 and 1983, and the Estádio Aderbal Ramos da Silva opened on 15 November 1983.
Confusingly, another ground carried the same official name in Blumenau, also in Santa Catarina — built in 1927, closed in 2004 and demolished in 2007. It has nothing to do with Avaí's stadium in Carianos.
For its first two decades the Ressacada held over 20,000, and every attendance record at the ground dates from that period — the peak, 32,226, was set on 17 July 1988. A change of club leadership in 2002 cut capacity sharply, and reduced-ticket matches became the norm through to 2009.
The pitch, still natural grass at 105 by 68 metres, sits on Avenida Deputado Diomício Freitas in the Carianos district.
