Estadio Alfredo Terrera

Central Córdoba play a few blocks from the river, but the ground itself came from a gift rather than a purchase: the provincial government handed the land to the club in 1929, and it took until 1946 for the stadium to actually open. Alfredo Terrera gives it his name for the same reason — he was one of the men who built the club, not a donor bought in after the fact. Local lore adds an uneasy footnote: the pitch is said to sit where a cemetery once stood.

For decades the ground stayed a provincial fixture, tidy but unremarkable, until Central Córdoba's promotion to the top flight forced the issue. The 2019 works brought it up to AFA and CONMEBOL standard — new floodlighting, wider dressing rooms and entrances, a mixed zone, a press area — the kind of upgrade clubs only pay for once they can no longer avoid it.

What the stadium has hosted since says more than its capacity does. It staged Copa de la Liga Profesional group and quarter-final matches in 2021, then in 2024 the Copa Argentina final itself, Central Córdoba against Vélez Sarsfield, in front of a city that queued for days to get in. A regional amateur final and a TINI concert have passed through as well, proof the ground earns its keep beyond league Saturdays.

Not every memory is a good one. In May 2019 a match against Mitre was abandoned after clashes between rival groups outside the gates sent tear gas drifting onto the pitch — a reminder that the same stands that fill for finals can turn on themselves without warning.
