Estadio Antonio Accioly
Goiânia, Brazil
Estádio Antônio Accioly sits in the Setor Campinas neighbourhood of Goiânia. The ground is known locally as the “Dragon’s Castle.”
What remains of that era is the sense of a place that grew with its owners. Today, four new floodlight towers push the illumination to 1,800 lux.
There is a quiet tension between the old and the new. One fixture that draws particular attention is the Campeonato Goiano derby against Goiás, where the record attendance of 12,089 was set in March 2023.
It is also a venue that has hosted concerts outside the football calendar. Shakira performed here in 1996 to promote her album “Pies Descalzos,” and Paul McCartney played a show in 2013 that was later noted for a swarm of locusts falling on the stage. The stadium has no website of its own; the club’s pages carry the information.
