Estadio Campeones Olimpicos

The Estadio Campeones Olímpicos sits in Florida, Uruguay. Its name, bestowed in 1952, honours the Uruguayan national team after their Olympic gold medals. The city’s Departmental Intendancy built the ground in 1927 to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Las Piedras, and it remains the owner today.

A massive renovation completed in 2022. The project cost approximately USD 2 million and brought a new electronic scoreboard from the Estadio Centenario alongside 44 LED floodlights. It modernized the locker rooms with cryotherapy units and repaired the historic pillars that support the stands. The pitch itself is natural grass, a surface local sources describe as the finest in the interior of the country.

Boston River have called this place home since 2019. Before they arrived, El Tanque Sisley played here for six seasons between 2012 and 2018. The ground also hosts the finals of the Campeonato Floridense and matches in the Copa AUF Uruguay Central. In the past, it hosted a friendly between the Uruguayan national team and the Selection of Florida before the 1950 World Cup, and more recently a U-20 match against Paraguay.

The official seating capacity stands at 5,124. While older reports suggested figures closer to 8,000, the current count is the most verified. The stadium has no former names and no sponsorships.
