Estádio Centenário

Formerly: Estádio Francisco Stédile

The name is not about the club. It went up in seven months across 1975 and 1976 and opened on 12 September 1976.

On 15 September 1976 the floodlights were switched on for the first time and Caxias hosted Palmeiras in the Brazilian championship. The match finished 0-0; 30,875 people were inside, a figure well above the 22,132 the ground now holds.

Formally the ground is the Estádio Francisco Stédile , after the club president and city figure under whom it was built.

It sits in the Marechal Floriano district, on Rua Thomaz Beltrão de Queiroz, with a pitch of 105 by 68 metres. The floodlights that drew the record crowd were part of a run of work on the ground rather than a one-off.
