Estadio Chino Rivas
Ayotlán, Mexico
The ground in Ayotlán does not present itself as a monument. The pitch itself is natural grass, well-maintained for the needs of Club Deportivo Ayense.
The venue has a history of adaptation. The most significant change came in 2018, when the municipal government undertook a full rehabilitation. They did not tear it down; they rebuilt the structure from the inside out, ensuring the club could return to professional football in the Liga Premier Serie B the following year. The renovation was practical, focused on safety and comfort rather than aesthetics.
Today, the stadium is small, holding about 4,000 people. It is not a place for record-breaking crowds. It is a place for local derbies and the grind of the bottom-half of the league table. When Deportivo Ayense played Cordobés in April 2025, the result was decisive, but the ground remained the same: quiet until the whistle blew, then loud for ninety minutes, and then back to silence. It is a standard piece of Mexican lower-league infrastructure, unpretentious and utilitarian.
