Estadio COAC Mushuc Runa

The ground sits at roughly 3,250 metres above sea level on the road out of Ambato towards Guaranda, in the Echaleche community of the Pilahuín parish. Mushuc Runa built it themselves, starting in 2012 and finishing only in late 2018, with local contributions.

The opening match, on 17 November 2018, was a Serie B fixture against Orense Sporting Club. Mushuc Runa won it 3–0 and went up. Promotion then made the ground too small: through 2019 the club added the north stand, part of it put up by volunteers working a minga, communal labour, and the enlarged stadium was opened on 12 May 2019 against Técnico Universitario — a match the hosts lost 3–4. A digital scoreboard followed in 2021. The club turned instead to plans for a new stadium in Tisaleo.

In October 2024 the Municipality of Ambato closed the ground. Officials said it had been built without permits, did not meet structural norms, and stood on a filled-in ravine, with a risk that a stand could collapse. The club president, Luis Alfonso Chango, went to court to have the order lifted. Home matches moved elsewhere in the meantime — to the Estadio La Cocha in Latacunga and the Estadio Olímpico in Riobamba.
