There is no roof over the main seating area, and the sky is open above the players warming up on the grass.

The ground is flat and green, with a white centre line running straight towards the camera. In the distance, a temporary blue screen stands near the far goal, and a banner reading "Alcantara Apoia o Atletico" runs along the perimeter. Players in yellow and blue kits stretch on the touchline, while others pass the ball in small groups. A blue fence separates the pitch from the spectator area, and a few people sit quietly on the concrete steps.

The stadium sits in the Alcântara district of Lisbon, where the name comes from the local field it replaced. It opened as a simple pitch in 1926, before being expanded with concrete stands after the Second World War. The capacity has been trimmed back since then, but the layout remains largely unchanged. Benfica Women play matches here, and their presence is visible in the training sessions that take place on the same surface. The site is owned by Atlético Clube de Portugal, who have played on it for nearly a century.
