Stadium
Estadio de la Ceramica
Villarreal, Spain
Formerly: Campo del Villarreal, El Madrigal
The ground sits low and wide, El Madrigal . The architecture is unassuming, with tiered concrete stands that sit close to the pitch.
Inside, the playing surface is a hybrid system of natural grass and synthetic fibres, laid down during the centenary renovation. The work was completed in 2022, adding a new continuous roof that stretches across the main stand. The roof offers shelter from the Mediterranean sun and the winter rain.
The atmosphere is distinct because the crowd is never far from the action.
There is no other stadium in the city of Villarreal.
