Estadio del Club Deportivo La Unión

Pujilí is a small town in Cotopaxi, and its stadium carries a fitting local logic: it belongs entirely to one club, Club Deportivo La Unión, which plays in the Segunda Categoría, Ecuador's provincial third tier.

The naming tells its own story. Locals and older records still call it Estadio Municipal Jaime Zumárraga, a name that outlived at least two rebrandings — Estadio del Complejo de La Unión and Complejo Deportivo Club Deportivo La Unión among them — without ever quite settling on one. That kind of layered naming is common at grounds built and run by municipalities rather than clubs with marketing budgets, and it points to a stadium that grew out of civic infrastructure before it became a football venue in its own right.

It opened in 2006, on natural grass, with room for 3,000 — modest even by provincial-league standards, but enough for a ground whose main job is hosting a single club's home matches rather than drawing crowds from beyond Cotopaxi. There is no record of a later reconstruction or expansion; what was built in 2006 appears to be, in its essentials, what stands today.
