Estadio Deportivo Paraguayo
González Catán, Argentina
Formerly: Estadio Guaraní, Predio Deportivo Paraguayo
There is no back-story to reach for here, no anniversary, no war-time closure to mention: the ground opened in March 2025, and everything about it still carries that newness. What stands out is the road that led to it. Club Atlético Deportivo Paraguayo, formed by the Paraguayan community in Buenos Aires, spent decades as a tenant, fielding its sides at the José María Moraños ground in Lugano rather than on land of its own. The plot in Villa Scasso had been earmarked since 1992, when the five-hectare site was first laid out, but building on it stalled long enough that the club played its home fixtures away from home for the better part of a generation.
What finally opened this year sits in González Catán, within the Partido de La Matanza, known locally as the Estadio Guaraní — a nod to the club's roots rather than an official former name, since the venue itself is too new to have carried one. Capacity is modest, listed at 1,000, in keeping with a fourth-division ground built to serve its own community rather than draw crowds from across the city.
Deportivo Paraguayo now competes in Primera C Metropolitana, and the stadium gives the club, for the first time, a home fixture list on ground it owns rather than borrows.
