It opened in 1989 following a campaign led by club president Abílio Pimenta, who collected monthly donations from residents to secure the land. The pitch was replaced in the summer of 2021 after more than thirty years, a change timed to coincide with the club’s first season in the Primeira Liga. The surface remains natural grass, which the team has used since the renovation.

The official card lists 3,500 seats, yet a match against Benfica in September 2023 drew 5,584 spectators, suggesting the capacity has shifted as the club pressed high up the pitch.

More recent work focused on the facilities rather than the seating. A €582,000 project completed in late 2024 saw the construction of offices and the widening of locker rooms, while a retaining wall was built on the East Stand. The club handed a debut to several young players during the subsequent UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers, and the new dining room hosted the media after the final whistle.
