Estadio Dr. Machado de Matos
Felgueiras, Portugal
Formerly: Estádio Municipal de Felgueiras, Estádio Municipal Dr. Machado de Matos
It opened in 1930 under the name Estádio Municipal de Felgueiras and was later renamed for Dr. Machado de Matos, the former mayor who pushed the project through the municipal council. The ground has not escaped the decades quietly. Its south stand was closed by the Portuguese league in October 2024, and the Municipal Council carried out minor alterations to let play resume.
The pitch is 105 by 68 metres of natural grass, and it is the matchday home of FC Felgueiras 1932. The club returned to the ground in August 2024 for the Liga Portugal 2 campaign after a nineteen-year absence, though they were forced to play their first home fixture in Vizela because the conditions were not yet ready. The highest crowd recorded here was 7,000 people for a Primeira Liga tie against S.L. Benfica in 2002. The club has also hosted games for Portugal’s lower-tier youth sides.
The official website for the tenant club is www.fcfelgueiras.pt, and the address is listed as Rua D. Manuel I in the parish of Margaride.
