Estadio El Rubial

The Estadio El Rubial in Águilas trails only Gijón's Molinón as the oldest football ground still in use in Spain, a fact the club's own supporters bring up more often than any result. The pitch has hosted matches on this same patch of the Las Lomas-Las Yucas district since 1908, though the formal opening came later, on 19 January 1913, and the land itself was not bought outright until 1915.

For decades it stood without a single stand. That changed only in 1954, when a main grandstand and the club offices went up on the northern side. The ground took its current name after passing into municipal hands in the mid-1980s, becoming the Estadio Municipal El Rubial. It waited until 2005-2006, under president Trinitario Casanova, for a proper modernisation: a renewed presidential box, a new stand to the rear, an electronic scoreboard.

A second, more drastic rebuild followed in 2020 under Alfonso García. One of the old stand walls came down, replaced by a single continuous wall, and 300 new seats went in on the lower tier, with additional terracing added to push capacity toward its current 4,000. The natural grass pitch was relaid at the same time using modern turf tepes.

El Rubial passed through the hands of CD Aguileño and then CD Águilas CF across most of the twentieth century before Águilas FC took it over in 2010. Calle Electra remains its address, unchanged even as the stands around it were rebuilt twice.
