Estadio Enrique Sexto
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The ground carries the name of a club official rather than a player or a founder in the usual sense: Enrique Sexto sat on the board of Club Atlético General Lamadrid and, more than anyone else, pushed the club's affiliation with the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino through. The stadium has kept his name since it opened, with no rebranding along the way.
It sits in Villa Devoto, on Desaguadero at the corner with Pedro Lozano, a residential pocket of the capital where a club ground this size functions as a neighbourhood fixture rather than a landmark. Work on the site began in May 1950, and the ground was inaugurated on 9 July the following year — a build that took little over a year from first spade to opening day.
General Lamadrid has played its home fixtures there ever since, on natural grass, in front of a capacity that has stayed modest by design. There is no record of the pitch or the stands being renamed or rebuilt into something larger; the Estadio Enrique Sexto has stayed the same size and the same name it started with.
