Estadio Evandro Almeida
Belém, Brazil
Formerly: Campo de Esportes do Clube do Remo, Estádio da Travessa Antônio Baena, Estádio Banpará Baenão
The pitch at the Estádio Evandro Almeida is cut short of the stands by a low fence, but it is the crowd that defines the place.
The ground is small, but the history inside it is not. It opened in 1917 as the first private stadium in Northern Brazil, built by Clube do Remo on land they purchased for the project. The club remains its owner, and the renovation in 2019 was funded by fan donations alongside club resources, a rare example of a community restoring its own home. Yet the facility is functional again after being closed for structural repairs.
The attendance record of 33,487 was set during a Campeonato Brasileiro Série A match against their neighbours, a game Remo won 5-2. The pitch is natural grass, maintained under floodlights installed in 1946 and upgraded with LED units in 2021.
