Estadio Gabino Sosa

Central Córdoba built its home in 1907, when the club moved to the Tablada barrio in the south-east of Rosario and put up the ground on the block it still occupies today, bounded by Juan Manuel de Rosas, 1º de Mayo, Gálvez and Virasoro. For over sixty years the stadium carried no name that survives in any record. That changed on 7 November 1969, when the club's board, acting on a proposal from the president of the local sports journalists' circle, Argentino Menéndez, renamed the ground after Gabino Sosa, a former player for both the club and the national team.

The naming set it apart from most Rosario grounds, which tend to carry the identity of a founder or a benefactor rather than a footballer who wore the shirt. It also fixed Central Córdoba's home more firmly to its own history than to the city's broader footballing map, dominated as that map is by the two giants across town.

The pitch remains natural grass, and the ground still sits entirely within Tablada, a block the club has never had reason to leave since 1907. Estadio Gabino Sosa has stayed, through the renaming and everything since, a one-club stadium in a city that usually talks about its other two.
