Estadio Guadalajara
Zapopan, Mexico
Formerly: Estadio Omnilife, Estadio Chivas
It opened on July 30, 2010 to replace the Estadio Jalisco, which had served the club since 1950. The current hybrid surface is a later development for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The venue has changed its name three times since the lease began. It started as the Estadio Omnilife, then briefly the Estadio Chivas, before Grupo Akron secured a ten-year sponsorship in December 2017. It is currently known as the Estadio Akron. It was temporarily renamed the Estadio Guadalajara for the upcoming World Cup to comply with FIFA’s neutral naming policy.
It has hosted tournaments as well as club matches. The stadium staged eight matches at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup and hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2011 Pan American Games. For football, it holds the highest attendance for a domestic game, 45,033 for the Chivas versus Tigres final on May 28, 2017. The all-time record for the venue belongs to a boxing match between Saúl Álvarez and John Ryder on May 6, 2023.
The address is Av. Circuito JVC 2800 in the El Bajío area.
